2025 Dance Team with section trophies

The St. Francis High School (SFHS) Dance Team has qualified for the 2025 Class AA Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Dance State Tournament in both High Kick and Jazz. The state competition is set for Feb. 14 for Jazz and Feb. 15 for High Kick at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The High Kick Team claimed the Section 4AA Championship on Feb. 1 to secure their second straight and third overall appearance at the state tournament. The High Kick Team also claimed the Mississippi 8 Conference Championship this season. The Jazz Team placed third to qualify for state for the second straight year and will make their third overall appearance.

Tournament Information: The Class AA Jazz competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. The Class AA High Kick competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. The schedule will move ahead if time permits. Spectator information, including details about tickets and streaming, can be found on the MSHSL website.

Individual Awards: Sophomores Kylie Schaefer and Jaiden Tucker were named All-State Jazz, while senior Elissa Ramacher and freshman Brooke Hanson earned All-State Kick by the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams. Ramacher, senior Eden Haider, senior Mila Klein and junior Aubree Roeller were recognized as Mississippi 8 All-Conference, while sophomore Jaiden Tucker, senior Leah Wooster and junior Lillias Savageau were named honorable mention.

Head Coach Kayla Biegler on goals at the state tournament: “We always want to up our game and have our best performances there, but also have the girls enjoy every moment of it and make it the most positive experience for them that we can because ultimately that is what all of this is about.”

Senior Elissa Ramacher on the drive of the team: “We all have the same work ethic, we have the same goals and we all wanted to go to state. We show up to practice everyday ready to work for our goals.”

Junior Aubree Roeller on qualifying for state: “We are all super happy and very relieved knowing that all the hard work we have put into this season has all paid off going to state.”
