On Feb. 15, St. Francis High School (SFHS) junior Rachel Rinta participated in the Minnesota All-State Band, sponsored by the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA). The MMEA All-State concert was held at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
Rinta plays the flute and was the only member of the SFHS Band program to pass the rigorous and highly-competitive audition to be involved in the MMEA All-State program this year.
Overall, there were 614 students from across the state comprising seven different ensembles.
MMEA’s All-State, considered the top program of its kind across the nation, develops high school musicians and school music programs. The All-State program supports secondary school music ensembles, MMEA members and members’ students.
