Kyle Waterworth has been named the next St. Francis High School (SFHS) Head Girls Basketball Coach.
Waterworth brings more than 22 years of high school basketball coaching experience to the program. During his coaching tenure he has built a culture founded on hard work, respect and accountability.
“We’re excited to welcome Coach Waterworth and are confident in the leadership, experience, and passion he will bring to the Girls Basketball program,” said SFHS Activities Director Joan Johnson. “Kyle is a respected and integral member of our school and community.”
Waterworth was the head coach of the SFHS Boys Basketball team for seven seasons until 2023-24. In 2022-23, he was recognized as the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Section 5AAA Coach of the Year and led the Saints to a Section 5AAA Championship and a trip to the MSHSL State Boys Basketball Tournament. With a sixth-place finish, SFHS tied for the best finish in school history.
Beyond his coaching success, Waterworth has been an American History teacher at St. Francis Middle School since 2003. He also serves as a curriculum specialist, social studies peer leader, and LAC Representative.
