Results from the 2024-25 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) tests were recently released by the Minnesota Department of Education. The results by St. Francis Area Schools students in math and reading showed an increase in proficiency from the previous year as well as a five-year high. Both content areas rank above the state average.

In math, the district recorded a 6% improvement in proficiency rates from last year and now ranks above the state average for the first time in recent years. In reading, the district’s proficiency rates grew slightly to continue an upwards trend over the past two years. The reading percentage in 2024-25 scored higher than the state average by 3.1%.

“We are pleased with the progress students and teachers made last year, but we understand there is still significant work to be done,” said Superintendent Karsten Anderson. “We will continue to find ways to equip students so they become responsible citizens in a dynamic world.”
