Last summer, our American Indian Education Program (AIE) collaborated with the UMN Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve (CCESR) for a summer internship! Two St. Francis high schoolers were able to work throughout the summer connecting with Elders and researching Dakota and Ojibwe plant knowledge. They incorporated this knowledge into the CCESR ecology trail in the form of signage, a field guide, and a free library on the trail! Check out this video to see their wonderful work!
