St. Francis Areas Schools Adult Basic Education (ABE) offers in-person classes for GED preparation and testing. The class schedule is flexible and all classes, materials, and GED pre-testing are FREE.

Class schedule is flexible: Classes are held Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Early Childhood Family Center (18900 Cedar Drive NW, Oak Grove, MN 55011), and Monday evenings from 4:30–7 p.m. at St. Francis High School. Students set their own schedules and work at their own pace. Some studying can be done at home.
Many students complete the program in just a few weeks and earn their diploma!
Who is eligible?: Individuals must be at least 19 years of age and not currently enrolled in high school in order to take the GED. Individuals who are 17 or 18 must receive an age waiver from the State of Minnesota before testing. Individuals under the age of 17 are not eligible to take the GED.
What is covered?: Instruction focuses on math, science, social studies, reasoning through language arts, and writing skills. Classes also work on critical thinking skills and computer skills needed to take the GED exam.
